Bradford Tutor Company helps people to prepare for functional skills English level 2 exams. This qualification is equivalent to a GCSE in English, making it an invaluable qualification for those wanting to work in the UK, as well as those wanting to study at a UK university.
To earn this qualification, you are required by the exam board to complete 3 separate exams: Reading, Writing and SLC. The first exam you will sit as part of the qualification will be the Reading exam, which consists of a variety of questions along with some texts to read through. This will be testing your abilities to read through the texts and pick out key information required to answer the questions. The Writing exam will be sat straight after the Reading exam, and will contain scenarios where you as the learner will need to write a long-form response to in the form of a piece of creative writing. Both of these exams will last 1 hour each for a total of 2 hours. Finally, you will be required to sit an SLC, or a Speaking, Listening and Communication exam, where you will be tasked with giving a presentation to other learners as well as an invigilator on a topic given to you prior to the exam. You will be required to pass all 3 of these exams to earn your qualification.
The English functional skills exams that are provided by MME are undertaken online, meaning that you will need access to a laptop or computer with a working webcam and microphone in order to complete the exam. On the day of the exam, you will be emailed by an Ofqual-approved invigilator with an invitation to an online video call, where the invigilator will go through the necessary steps to get you set up for your exam.
The functional skills level 2 English online exam is priced on the MME website, with the cheapest price at £225. This package will include the exams themselves along with a variety of revision materials including past papers and revision cards to assist you in passing your exam.
