When looking to resit your GCSEs after results day, you will have a lot of choices regarding the type of qualification you can get. The biggest thing to consider would be if you require a grade higher than level 4 or grade C. If so, then we would recommend the GCSE resits.

The GCSE resits main benefit is the opportunity to receive a level 4 or higher grade. Following the same curriculum and structure as the exam you previously failed. However, the resits are also limiting, as you can only take the exam at certain times of the year, and in an exam center. This makes it difficult for learners who need their grades immediately. Especially when it takes around 2 months for the results to be returned back to the learner after the exam has been taken.

An excellent provider of the GCSE resit exams would be MME, which has exams in:

On the other hand, you also have the option of a Functional Skills Level 2 qualification. Which is excellent for those who don’t need a qualification worth over a level 4 or grade C. This will have the added benefit of having less content that needs to be revised in the exam. Alongside this, the learner can take the FS exam all year round, as well as not having to take the exam in an exam center. Another benefit would be that the results take up to 2 weeks, instead of 2 months like the GCSE resits.

An excellent provider of the Functional Skills Level 2 exams would again be MME, which has exams in:
